Small Changes
|
Not much to add, as you can see it's been awhile since we felt the need to update the site. I cleaned up a broken link on our Sponsors page and redirected the Handy link at the top for the 55th Virtual Assault Squadron to point to its new home. The new 55VAS website still needs some work but most if not all of the links point to somewhere valid. The Message board is down for now because we haven't had the time to figure out all the problems. That will take some time and probably Brinkster's help.

Pics Delayed

I have resized all the pictures that were taken at the last event, but I can't find the ones from the previous event. I need to leave space in the database for those pictures, so I can't add the ones from this event because it would mess up the random pic feature on the main page. As soon as I locate those pictures, I'll update the database and get it all posted.

Next Party
|
We always take a break from LAN Party hosting during the summer months. Look for our next Frag Fest to be September 17th. The date is not confirmed yet, but we'll post the confirmed date here at the soonest possible moment.
In the off-time we're going to try to participate in some other LAN parties in the Omaha and Kansas City area.

Great Party
|
Folks, we had a spectacular party on April 2nd. We didn't have quite the turnout we were hoping for, but that just meant the hosts had a lot more time for gaming. I can't tell you how many times the other hosts had to tell me to keep it down, and that doesn't happen often as I usually don't even play that much.
We played a lot of Star Wars Battlefront and even some Galactic Battlegrounds, which isn't surprising since Episode III comes out in 7 weeks and the toys are already in the stores.
There was also a lot of UT2k4 being played and a mod for it that I hadn't seen before that kind of looked like Band of Brothers or something.
We'll get some pictures on here as soon as possible.

More Web Changes
|
The web site is once again undergoing some minor reconstruction. You might notice some new buttons on the left, and some other graphics changing as well. Please pardon the inconvenience of broken links and pages with strange, unfinished content. How is that different from normal you ask? Easy. You add the milk before the parsley flakes!

Guild Wars
|
It's only been over for a couple of days and most of us are already suffering withdrawal symptoms. That was a great game! Takes some getting used to, but I can definitely see myself playing this game a LOT until Diablo 3 comes out.

New Pricing

We have been the cheapest LAN Party in the Omaha area for some time now. We are raising our prices for the first time ever, and it's effective immediately. Price is now $15 at the door. If you'd like to do us a favor and reserve your spot at least 7 days in advance, you can still get in for $10. If you go ahead and pay in advance too (using our new PayPal link) we'll even give you a free bottle of Bawls or 2 sodas.

Date Change
|
We lost the use of the Base Lake Pavilion for March 19th, so we're going to have to push the date back a bit. We'll let you all know what the new date will be as soon as we get it reserved.

Great Party
|
That was a fantastic party. We had a couple of networking issues early on that got worked out, as well as tripping a couple of circuit breakers, but those got resolved and there was a lot of gaming for a good long time. The prizes were outstanding and the tournaments were a lot of fun. I especially liked watching Prophet13 beat up on FlaskRabbit. Date of next one is posted and the attendees list has been reset. Feel free to reserve your seat for it now.

I know there are more reservations that have been sent in, and I'll process them as soon as I get a chance. There is so much to do to get ready for this event, and only 3 days left to do it in.

We are setting up an on-line forum for you all to use to post your game requests and such. It will replace the recently developed games page. Once we post the link to it, please feel free to stop by and post your game requests.

Lots of behind-the-scenes code changes have been implemented this weekend that will enable this site to be updated more easily. Of course you all won't be able to tell by looking at it.

Right now we're working on getting a link on our site so that if you want to pay in advance through Pay Pal you will be able to. It should be available in time for the 2nd LAN Party of 2005.

We Were Not Kidding
|
We were not kidding when we said space is filling up quickly. With just over 2 weeks remaining before the LAN Party, we have more reservations at this point than we had for the previous event as a total. By all means, save your seat soon. We traditionally get the bulk of our reservations about a week out.

More Progress
|
The Games page is coming along. Right now it looks just about finished, but looks are deceiving in this case. The data on that page is static. The developer still has to code it so it pulls the info from a database.

Work In Progress
|
The web developer is currently working on the "Featured Games" page. Please note the link on the left. It looks good, and it works. Right now it just brings up the "Event Details" page, but pretty soon it will bring up a listing of the games that we're expecting to be played at the event. Stay tuned.

What Games?

We need to know what games to play this time, so by all means send in your requests to info@micsfragfest.com. We need to know what tourneys you'd like to see and what you want to play in between the tourneys.
